I just had a brake fluid change at my OPC before a trip to knockhill in my 996tt, after about 6 laps I was coming down the straight into the hairpin, jumped onto the brake and the pedal went straight to the floor.

It's a scary moment when you're deciding where the best place to ditch it is! Thankfully it didn't come to that but thats no use at all. It didnt happen the last time I went (although that was my first time at knockhill so wasnt pushing as hard as I was this time) so I wonder if the OPC used a different fluid or if there is something else I should be using?

OPC stuff is ok for road use, but I'd change it to one of these if you're tracking your car:

Castrol SRF
ATE Super Blue
Motul RBF600/660
Endless RBF

Thanks, is the Castrol worth the extra money?

Yes, but I've used the ATE and Motul stuff on track and never had an issue. And that's doing 3 laps of the Nordschleife non stop in a 550BHP Turbo!

You'll have to also check if the weakest link is not elsewhere perhaps, maybe pads or non-braided lines.

I've had "Porsche race fluid" in my Boxster and still had the pedal go soft at Donington. Switched to ATE Blue instead as well as Goodrich braided lines plus GT3 air deflectors (which admittedly are only slightly larger than standard). Our race cars don't use braided lines though, so I think they're a tad OTT (unless the existing ones actually need replacing).
