directional lights?

I have an 11 Seat company car. It has adaptive (or something) lighting. Basically when the headlights are on and you turn the wheel or indicate the relevant side fog light fades in. Once the steering is straight again it fades out. I've noticed this on other cars, Merc in particular. This feature does nothing for me except gain a few flashes from people who think I'm using fog lights for no reason.
How do I turn this off? Or is at a garage job with the hand held plug in job?

Our RRS does exactly the same. Living in the middle of nowhere I do find it useful. Handy when turning into real dark areas.

Fairly sure that's a job for someone with a laptop and VCDS / VAG-COM.

Shouldn't be more than a 5 or 10 minute job so wouldn't expect a garage to charge much for doing it..

I'm a bit of a hater about these but when in Spain, I had a hire Citroen C4 that did it and I have to say it did make a positive difference (annoyingly).

That'll probably throw up a bulb warning on the dash. If the 11 Seat does that.

Mk6 Golf does that too(GT trim for fog lights), very useful in rural areas, i.e. where I live.

No fog lights though, DRL's instead.

They have an additional bulb in the main light cluster at a 45' ish angle directed to whichever side you are turning.Plus the main beams are directional with the steering, brilliant headlights, best I have had on any car.

I read on a Cupra forum a few months ago that it can be turned off, but, from memory, it wasn't an easy thing to do and is hidden deep in various menus that's only accessed by a code reader thingy.

It's worth a call to the dealer though.

need vag com, but they are useful, ive never seen any car get flashed with them, standard on anything from a ibiza up

Handy for tippy-toeing round those off-road puddles I guess.
