Am I being to picky?

I have recently moved to London and am currently seeking employment there. I have a job in East Sussex and I am commuting down every day which isn't ideal but it is do-able.
I haven't made a massive effort with my job search but have applied for a few here and there and have had 3 or 4 interviews.
From these interviews I have had 3 job offers, all of which I have turned down for numerous reasons -
Not enough money - London living is not cheap!
Not happy with the companies policies and procedures - very warped views on how to do things
Not overly excited about the working enviroment - think prison cell styled office with not very exciting people.
I am now starting to wonder if I should shut up and put up..? With people struggling to find any jobs at all, am I being too picky?

Sorry, one of them provisionally offered me a job, but requested I attend a trial day. This was to make sure that both employer and employee were going to be fully happy with eachother. It was while I was there that I realised how odd it all was. AA88 said:

Ah, okay - understood.There are 2 groups of people in my experience:
"I'm lucky to have a job..."
and
"I choose to spend my life working here"
I'm in the latter so I'm with you - be as fussy as you like, it's your life.
It is important for you to be happy in your job; if you're not happy before you start the job then it is unlikely that you will be any happier after 6 months or a year.
Stick out for what you consider to be the right position in the right company for you and in the meantime maybe you could go some agency / contracting work?

So born in the year 88, customer service type things, and one job you didn't think paid enough because London is expensive?
You do realize that most jobs in anything customer service you get in London don't afford you a lavish lifestyle?
So it may not be that you're being picky, just that you're being unrealistic, I doubt there is much difference in what Travelodge pay their staff in London compared to Hastings, for example.

I left it broadly at customer service because I have no reason to sell myself around here. I am succesful at what I do and have got to a pretty high level in that field.
I work very hard and am grateful for anything I have. I'm not expecting a lavish lifestyle, I never suggested that. Surely my car history lends itself to the fact I'm not a greedy, cash grabbing, city boy wannabe..
I don't think the rules should change because of the area of occupation.. The job I turned down because of the policies and practices would have been a £5,000 pay rise for me ..

If you are going to be a smart arse, at least be right - usage varies in UK English for this word as it has a Greek stem and -ise and -ize are generally acceptable....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_and_British_...

Well done.I was going to suggest taking one of the crappy alternatives for now.
That would at least cut down on your travelling time giving you more free time to look, and probably a bit of a saving on costs so boosting up the lower income a touch.
