theirs far worse out there, recently was a pic where one of the twin discs was worn complety away and the cooling fins where mostly gone

That disc doesn't look like a fail to me, as long as it's not seriously weakened, insecure or contaminated by grease it's not a fail in itself. If it was causing the brake to bind, judder or be ineffective it could be contributory to a MOT fail.

From the "stupid things non petrolheads say" - brakes were acting funny, apparently.

Had the Z06 done a couple of weeks ago. Sitting on his desk was a front vented disk. The inside surface of the disk had completely gone and the venting veins were only just there. It was pretty much running on just the outside portion of the disk. No pic unfortunately. Think I was so socked looking at it that I didn't think to grab the phone and photograph.

Scary stuff. A car like that could be behind you.....

Doudt it

Many cars end up with rear discs like this as those big shiny discs at the back do basically bugger all apart from look shiny behind the wheel

I concur. If the RBT showed no issues I'd pass that.
