mk4 golf footwell LEDs

i have just posted about my cigarette lighter not working in my mk4 golf and i have footwell LEDs that say to connect off the CL. Does anyone know of anywhere else i can connect to??

It could be chopped and modified to connect directly to the car electrics as it will only need power and earth but TBH I would just replace the 12v socket, they are cheap and pretty easy to replace.

The LEDs actually connect with scotch locks to the wires underneath the CL (I should have explained better) so I'm not sure if it is the connection to the CL that is not working?

Gotcha.

In that case you do just need a live and earth which you may be able to take from, say, the radio wiring.
If in doubt ask a pro or check on the VW forums to see what would be the easiest connections to use, just don`t start chopping into wires without being sure (from personal experience lol).
I had footwell LED`s in my Mitsubishi and kind of miss them, I may reinstate them after reading this
