2013 Bike shipment stolen from Trek UK offices

Just been notified of this theft from Trek and checked with Chris they are OK for me to post this, please call her if you see/hear anything:


Bikes stolen outside of Trek UK offices
(Milton Keynes) – A lorry carrying a shipment of 2013 Trek road and mountain bikes was broken into overnight on Friday, October 26th. The vehicle was parked on the street outside of the Trek offices.

Models taken include several sizes of the following models:

Elite 8.8
Elite Carbon 9.6
Fuel EX 8
Remedy 9.8
Madone 3.5
Madone 4.7
Madone 5.9

It is possible that stolen bikes will show up in stores for repair or build, or for sale on auction sites such as Ebay and Gumtree. Trek UK has a list of serial numbers for verification.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen bikes, or to report a stolen bike being offered for sale, is asked to contact Trek UK on 01908 360 160.

Bad news for trek but how do you steal 110 bikes from a lorry? sure they are flatpacked but that isnt a quick job and wouldn't you need another lorry to take them all away?!?! inside job?

Lorry parked in a street, overnight, outside the Trek office isn't the smartest thing in the world!

How do you know it was 110 bikes? unless they are piled up in your garage? ;-)

read on another bike forum the lorry was alledged to be carrying 110 bikes, apparently someone with a Texan accent was seen in the vicinity....

Well the greater the number of bikes stolen, the harder it's going to be to move them on and the greater the chance of police getting some leads I suppose.

Yep, can't see them managing to fence that lot on without it being noticed.

My fingers are crossed that the 5.9 frameset i've been waiting for since August, due for delivery in the next couple of weeks, wasn't amongst that shipment. Sadly my spidey senses make me suspect that it was.

If you've got the balls a hi-viz a van and the nerve to be seen off loading into your van, the only people who would know something odd was happening would be trek employees.

I work round the corner at Red Bull so I'll keep an ear to the ground.

Hope you get some success. I actually found a stolen cheapo MTB just over the road from Trek on the redway going towards walnut tree. Phoned the police and they took it away.

A bloke I went to school with went to prison for his involvement in a theft of a container full of cigarettes, from Seaforth Container terminal.

If there's money to be had, some fker will have a plan to get it.
