Hi All

Has anyone made the move from the Brera 2.4 diesel to the V6 S?
Now i love my car (its black with tan leather)and often have people approach me saying how beautiful the car is, but theres only so long i can cope with telling them 'Unfortunately its a diesel'
I can cope with the additional cost of mpg as i only do around 10000 miles a year, but are there many other costs that are significantly more than with my 2.4? Also are there any recurring problems with the V6 that i should know about, as i've had my car for over two years and not had a single problem with it

I suppose ultimately i'm asking, Is it worth the change?
Would be interested to hear from anyone who has made the move to the V6 from the diesel.

Regards

P

The 3.2 is known as being a tough engine, I don't think they have very many issues at all with just failed oil pressure sensors being the biggest cost as they are tucked away.

The S in any form in a big step forward over normal Brera's and a 3.2 S would be the way I would go! (the 2.2 fuel economy is so bad, the 3.2 is only marginally worse/similar)

As the diesel is the most troublesome engine in the Brera range then any move away has to be a postive one. Make sure the S you buy has the full set of Prodrive mods there are a few bitsa cars out there.

My wife had the 3.2S for 2 1/2 years and loved it. Only problems were the paint (red paint is very soft and all red cars in the 2008/9 Alfa Range suffered peeleage and chipping - luckily repainted under warranty) and a faulty power steering pump. Running costs are high-ish. Fuel is eaten at a rate of approx 20mpg and tyres, due to the custom tracking set by Bilstein and Eibach via Prodrive, last around 8k on the front if driven normally. Otrherwise, its the closest thing ive driven to the 996 C4.
