Always carry a rug, never know when you might need to lie down
Might want to add a can of fuel, some engine oil, footpump. Trouble is it's never going to happen to me

Liebchen - you forgot the flask of hot drinky, the pair of tights (for the fan belt - though it is amazing what black lacy top stockings can do ... Also have map, tool box, tow rope, bit of old sacking and shovel, insulating tape, spare bulbs, hose clips, jump leads, cable ties, fuses, spare tyre in good nick, plastic petrol can, bottle of ready mix screen wash...all in one of of those nice compact boot tidy thingies you get from Halfords which does not take up all the room in the boot....

Don't forget to make sure that any items you carry are secured, as they could become dangerous flying objects in a crash.

Good point mate..One of the reasons why I sugggest the boot is the best place for all the items, with the exception of the Hi Viz waistcoat which can be stored under the driver's seat.

All very well but please make sure any loose items are well & truly not likely to be flying around. A 1kg flask of coffee weighs 60 odd kg in an impact & it's likely to be coming at you at quite a speed. I have heard it's often the objects inside a car that kill people.

The last time I attended an accident scene was a head on the A303 last month. I think I had almost all that lot on board plus 100 cones! as I was on my way to set up an event. Sadly no amount of first aid was going saving one of the drivers but at least we tried.

I'd include a credit card in the emergency kit!

I have a personal vendetta about carrying fire extinguishers, though. If my car was to catch fire, I would immediately bail out and leg it: I wouldn't risk injury by having a go at putting it out.

I know the basics of how to use an extinguisher, but I don't practice and couldn't be sure I'd do a good job. What's more, cars are full of pretty dangerous stuff (including brake fluid, which is apparently more flammable than petrol, and tyres which can explode in extreme heat): I'd rather be legging it and claiming a new car on my insurance...

OK, I can work out what everything pictured is for, except the flask, and why does it have to be in its box? or do we just need to carry the box?

Also the chocolate bar and the water, can we substitute other brands? and what about the pattern on the blanket? can that be different too.

It's just that I know what you policemen can be like, if its not quite what the law says, you will nick me

My bike is my private bike...(you new that..didn't you)..

When I had my BMW with panniers, I used to carry loads of stuff. My Honda Blackbird only has underseat storage but I carry..Hi Viz vest for poor visibility conditions or nighttime, visor cleaners spray/sponge/wipe, disc lock....In my coat I have..warrant card/credit card, mobile phone, pen/notebook.

I knew that...

Likewise my Bandit only has the under seat space, and seeing this thread made me wonder... Cheers - Pretty much what I carry, along with some tools!

Yus...

Hear about the lad who bought one of those, then moved house?

On filling in the electoral register, he listed himself and one Suzy Bandit.

When the election came round, he got two voting cards, one headed Suzy Bandit.....

Lol! Mine is probably registered as a Jedi..

Had to phone the AA to get a "lift" home once, and they sent out a huge flatbed truck and crane thinking the "Suzuki Bandit" was some sort of monster 4x4! How we laffed...
