So - AF have never been competitive for me...until now.

People of PH - what are AF like in the event of a claim? A total PITA who never cough up, or are they reasonably pleasant to deal with? The chap I have been speaking with was a decent enough fellow...but he's on sales!

A few people have been getting decent quotes from them recently. I think they've made some big changes behind the scenes somewhere.

Just renewed with them. Like all companies though they try it on with the renewal. Call them and they'll cut it..

Be aware of auto-renew as well. I believe they now do that

They've just become competitive for me too. Also have 2 separate phone calls from Confused and Admiral telling me to give them a try.

Last thing they said on the phone to me was that they would match any quote.

I had a claim with AF a few years ago.

Absolutely no issues whatsoever and very easy to deal with.

Is that with the pistonheads member discount, if not it could be worth asking them. IIRC there is a thread running with a guy from Adrian Flux.

I have never had an issue at renewal time with them putting the price up.

Have been with them 5 maybe 6 years now and year on year I cannot get my renewal cheaper elsewhere even when posing as a new customer with them.

Hmm well, my Z06 renewal was Saturday. A phone call to them knocked nearly £100 off the renewal price they sent out

Nothing new though. Same with the motorbikes every year with the brokers they're with. Think they all hope people won't shop around and will just renew

Everytime i have had a quote with them - it is just a total piss take- one of the worst for me (and that's saying something given the buffoonery of the industry)

Well, unless anyone pm's me horror stories before tomorrow, I'll be taking them up in their offer. £59 cheaper than the nearest (my previous insurer) and similar cover levels it would seem.

They had my Sierra for two years but the renewal this year was just nonsensical and they wouldn't move so I am now with someone else.
When I Need To Insure again, I will get quotes from both...

2 years ago their renewal quote on my Focus RS was extortionate so that went to Need 2 Insure, and this year the renewal on my 205 GTI was surpassed by Greenlight by a good £200+.

Surprisingly, however, Flux were the only company out of all those i called that offered a pretty decent quote/policy on my Saxo VTS, so they've still had a bit of business from me this year. Plus they've changed the modification forms now so these ones shouldn't be "lost" in the myriad of admin/paperwork like the ones on my FRS were a few years back

Regardless of some of the shortcomings of Flux i've had, i will say that the staff i've dealt with recently with regards to my Pug & Saxo were spot on

Have you tried Bridle? Much better for us on a Supercharged Z3 & modded 911 Turbo.

Keith Michaels have just redone my 911 Turbo for a second year with all the mods declared no one else got close.

Personally i will never go near AF again, regardless if they were cheaper or not.
