"A"hole farmers
Discussion
The main road past my road has a few fields either side that farmers use for growing crops of one sort or another. They have obviously been busy today as the road was thick with mud this tea time with their comings and goings. I drove through it to get home at about 4.30 and it was ok but it has since rained and inevitably a car has gone off, now I have just heard of my mate that the police have now shut the road as there have been a total of 4 crashes on this stretch in the last couple of hours.
Now this is a very very busy 40 mph road that links directly to the motorway and if it had rained earlier coupled with the first day of driving home in the dark this could have been so much worse. Anyway as they always seem to be telling us they never make any money and Sainsbury etc are evil, they seem to cause a hell of a lot of agro on the roads for not much gain, this strikes me a being utterly selfish.
Just to add, did a farmer not get done for manslaughter a few years ago due to mud on the road.

Drive to the conditions springs to mind.
Usually I'm the first to agree with that but if I was to throw gallons of oil all over the road then I'm sure I would be getting a visit tonight. Totally unnecessary in my oppinion, trucks have wheel washes, why not them. who changed the thread title, that was the best bit

FFS! I've said it before. It is only for a few days. Farmers need to get the cash crops in when the crop is ready, not you.
They do their best to keep the road clean.
Drivers really should be aware of country hazards like this.
It lasts less than snow on the roads for Christs sake!
Would you plough on at 60 if the road was white? Why do it if it is brown and shiny?
If you can't see it you are blind or your headlights are goosed.
If you can't feel it, you are goosed.

They are legally obliged to wash the road when they have finished. Their higly effective and well connected (to one of the parties) union negotiated it down from washing their vehicles every time they went onto the public roads. If its lseft like this overnight take pics and report to the BiB.Tunku said:

heads on the roads out there, its amazing they get home on perfect roads. If we have to have railings to stop idiots running out into the road then surely the farmers are to blame for this one.Garlick said:
