Any suggestions on how to keep mice out of the garage and away from my cars? All ideas welcome.

Poison went down 2 weeks ago and traps gone down tonight.

Do these high pitched things work or anything else?

Cheers

never had a problem with any rodents

the plug in things work well as I used to sell them when I was at Uni, never had anyone complain

get one for every room though, the single one that claims to cover a whole house only works if you keep every door open

I had rats in my house when it was left empty the plug in thing seemed to clear them in hours just one in the kitchen downstairs but we haven't got any doors I'll update with the brand if I remember.

I use those blue pellet things put in jam jar lids around the place. Never found mice nests again after that in the garages. I think they must go outside to die.

don't bother with those sticky pad things

I know a guy who obsessed over the sticky pads for a week

until he came down one morning checked them and found them covered in mouse limbs

and blood stains across his floor

don;t think he ever found the elusive limbless mice

We had a really good garage clear out during the summer after evidence of mice (it was a good excuse to clear up). We cleaned every inch of the garage and one ran off, and we'e not seen any evidence since so didn't need any traps in the end.

Rat Zapper. I think we bought ours on ebay.

We had issues with mice a few years back and used one of those and it really worked. Use dried dog food at the bait, as the mouse goes to eat it, steps on the metal plate - zap - dead!

Genuinely works, next morning dead mouse would be there in the trap. All you needed to do was tip the body in the bin, reset the charge and off you go again.

Important to use decent batteries though to deliver a good (lethal charge).

Can anyone who has used these electric sound things honestly say they had a mouse problem before they started using a sonic device that actually drove the mice away? I'm a bit sceptical.

Mice have like a route they will use so if you put the trap in the way they will be caught, you can get 'humane' traps that just catch them then you can chuck them somewhere away from your place. The best bait by far is chocolate, works a treat. Cats are useless, they just play with them then get bored and let them go.

How nasty do you want to be? You can get sticky boards that you place where the mice run, they cross the board and stick to it until you dispose of them - humanely of course. This method relies on you checking the boards at least daily and - be warned - mice have sometimes been known to gnaw through their legs to escape.

ETA - Doh, missed previous post on sticky boards - in my defence I haven't had breakfast yet...

I get mice in the garage every winter and have tried all of the methods above (except the cat) but have come to the conclusion that good old fashioned wooden break back traps are the best baited with Aldi fruit and nut chocolate. Never found the ultrasonic things worked.
Three down so far.

I've got the one they do for tigers and that seems to work ok......

I never had too much luck with the mouse one though so I run a line of Little Nippers baited with chocolate or peanut butter
