993 Targa -noise from heater even when switched off

Hi there

Sitting quietly in my car (1996 varioram) this afternoon having a wee think about things, when I suddenly tuned into a humming/ buzzing noise coming from the heater controls, the ignition was off, no lights on no aircon but a sound akin to a tiny fan was working away....any ideas?

It's the tiny fan working away. Totally normal.

It never goes off, it just turns over slowly.

Wow...owned the car for 5 years and have never noticed it....doesn't it drain the battery?

It only carries on running for a minute or so after switching off.
