Cor blimey..What a trip down memory lane looking at some of these cars..A few of the older crowd back in the day had lotus cortina's..I even use to drive one round a car park when i was only fifteen, It belonged to a youth leader who used to allow a couple of us to drive it..I also went out with a girl who had a moggy van..We used to have a stall at whitechapel market in london selling baby clothes..Which was very apt i suppose as in the evening after we had unloaded the stock..I found myself unloading stock..It was quite roomy in the back of the moggy and the suspension was very stiff..I spent many an hour rigorously testing it...
...I also remember a very heated arguement about where the anti-freeze and windscreen washer fluid should go..Even after explaining to her that a windscreen washer bottle would not have a radiator cap fitted and an expansion tank would not be feeding the wipers..
..Good times....But yes a nice 400se..Ziga

It could end up costing more than double, not to mention the hassle. If it was that good, I guess the owner would have sold it privately, for more money. The auction is a quick buck, hassle free sale.
If we are to compare it to other classics like the spitfire, I guess a bubble car of the sixties is worth more than a top condition SEAC. Not a fair comparison.

I hope so mate, to many doom and gloom merchants on here. Basically writing the car off as a bad one just because it sold relatively cheap. How many people will have set off to that auction with the intention of bidding on the wedge....? not many is my guess, hence the low final sale price.
I hope the new owner does drop in here and gives us the low down on it.
