Boxster S 3.4 Track Day Tyres Solution Please.

Hey folks.
Been a very long time since I have posted on here but I'm in need of some advice please.
In the last year or so i've been getting seriously into trackdays. I'm currently using a Boxster S 3.4 (315 BHP) and I have to say - I love it. As a track car - I have been very impressed with it's all round track ability and pace.
Here is my issue. The car has 19" alloys, and as you are well aware track days eat tyres for fun and 19" are not cheap to replace. The best I can get them for is £980 fitted.
I was wondering if anyone out there is running a set of track only 17" or 18" which can be switched around for the day easily enough making the cost of tyre replacement somewhat sensible.
Can someone please offer me some advice?

I run a boxster s on track , in the last year I have done approx 8 track days as well as road miles, the tyres still do not need replacing yet. Wheels are 17 " with Michelin pilot sports, I must say that I am amazed that the tyres have lasted this long, considering I got through a brand new tyre in 30 mins in my previous car at brands hatch.
As someone else has said , you must make sure that they fit over the calipers, my car is a 986 so they came with it.
I was actually thinking of getting bigger alloys but given the cost of tyres , I will stick to what I have.
Track tyres like 888s , will normally wear faster , given that they are softer . This is something I was worried about before I bought my car, as I planned to track it a lot but they last longer then I thought they would. I will be looking at changing them next year, so will probably stick to the same tyres unless anyone has any other ideas.

On my Cayman I bought some OEM Cayman wheels with tyres that were part worn and rims needed a refurb for £350 off eBay.
In the end I ended up using them all the time, road and track, with 245 front and 265 rear Michelin Super Sports. Amazingly durable tire.
However, PLEASE invest in a decent geo. This alone has the ability to greatly increase the life of a tire on track. A Boxster will come with very conservative front and rear Camber. Increasing my camber to -2deg all round had a huge effect on wear rate. Consider this before just dumping money into wheels and tyres.
