The spacing on my wishbone/shock brackets is unmatched, is this ok for IVA? The main issue is the shock fits into the wishbone correctly but not into the bracket on the chassis so it would mean cutting the brackets off.

make a nice alloy spacer that goes in the gap and it will neaten it up.

I presume that is the top wishbone? They are usually 'handed' to give the correct castor, so try swapping them to the other side of the car! Sorry if this is teaching you to suck eggs! wink

As said it needs an alloy or steel spacer.

To finish it off a washer under the bolt head, a washer and nyloc nut at the other end. Leave at least 1.5 threads visible out of the nut. The bolt should also be marked 8.8.

That gap allows you to set up the correct caster, and corrects for any minor differences in bracket positioning. Usualy a stack of washers are used, and are put either side of the bushes to gain the correct caster angle on each side of the car. Both bushes on each wishbone must be spaced out like this, and the bolt must be able to tighten up hard against the steel bush inner ("crush tube") but without causing the bush to bind up by pressing on the sides of the poly bush (which implies the crush tube must have the correct length). Failure to do this can lead to the weld breaking where the bush tube is welded to the main part of the wishbone.
