Why has nobody mentioned the 1600hp Veyron yet?

There's rumours all over the Internet but nobody on here has discussed it, only in passing in the hennesey thread.

I don't understand the Veyron, it's always seemed a but of an odd premise to me but with 1600bhp, it's a different story, it makes much more sense then!

people are as bored of vayrons and their myriad of special editions as they are "new" aston martins (that still look like the DB9)

theres only a couple of private roads on the planet you can do 250+ so how much faster do you want to go?

I totally agree with the standard 1000bhp it's far too slow - you really need to rev it to make it move and I hear they're a liability at busy roundabouts. 1600bhp on the other hand is a step in the right direction.

All I meant is 1000bhp doesn't set it too far away from some other stuff, 1600 does.

All I meant is 1000bhp doesn't set it too far away from some other stuff, 1600 does.

1000 bhp sets it a long, long way away from anything that is drivable on a daily basis with a manafacturers warranty.

1000 bhp is relatively easy to do; warranty it for 3 years, that's another matter all together. This is why I respect the Veyron.

I'm sure Bugatti could sell you a 1600 bhp + Veyron if you didn't want a warranty (....although they wouldn't!).

I wonder how much of this is bragging rights for the super rich, cant imagine there are many roads where you can use the existing one, never mind one with another 60 percent power and less weight.

its not that much more power than underground racing get running race fuel on their turbo converted exotica, which are probably lighter

I doubt the 1.8 number given the Supersport is actually slower to 60mph than the 'normal' Veyron. How would it possibly take off 40% of the time?

And I'm confused - the picture shows a normal Supersport...and who's going to make this? Bugatti or Hennessey?

Thing is, getting a car that can do 290 to 250 is a lot easier than getting a car that can do 260 to 250.

Easier has never been fun though.

Still don't like them but have to admire the numbers getting put down (possibly).
