Hi Guys,

I have a Chim 400 and am currently only able to store outside. I am looking for direction and advice as to what outdoor cover/tent or something to use to protect my baby?

I have looked everywhere and covers just all seem to be terrible quality.

Does anyone use certain ones. I am happy to fork out £450 for something that looks neat with fitted wing mirror pockets but just need it to be the best of the best.

Please help me!

Hello !

To begin sorry for bad english. If I understand well you do not lock for a summer cover like this on picture
which also dont let water through which is produce of strong but soft material. We will make this cover how
you want it. Send me a short hand drawing and short discribtion how you want use it by PN and I will send you
an offer and possible some ideas too.

Regards

Dont be tempted to buy one of Halfrauds top of the range outdoor ones. I did at what I thought was a very reasonable £80. Opened it once home and one of the plastic buckles was broken. I thought I may have stood on it so I took it back the following morning and received a replacement. Unpacking the cover at home proved to have the same issue, plastic buckle broken. I had carefully unpacked it just in case but it was a definate manufacturing issue. The following day I went back to Halfrauds only this time to a different branch just in case of a dodgy batch. This time my third replacement was opened in the shop and what would you know....A broken buckle straight out the packaging. Refund given. I know you are looking for something more expensive/better quality but anyone else who may be tempted on the top flight Halfrauds one take heed.

Have a look at cover-zone, I got a cover from them for my 'S' and it is really good quality and a decent fit. Breathable too.

And what he do by the frist stronger wind. To easy the material...to less fixing points...positive are the double seams but these are not allocated and I do not belief that the seams are sealed.

Think that the monsoon one is cover zone anyhow:

I have an indoor Classic Additions one and am very happy with that.

Hi all :-)

Thanks for the input. Really appreciate the heads up.

Gregor, I'm looking at a full car cover for a TVR chim 400, breathable, classic design, all weather, strap under or fasten super cover that would allow you to park in the most variable horrible conditions. I'm not sure that's what you've got there.

Thanks again all, my first post and really happy for all the responses :-)

Friend of mine owns Classic Additions. Ask for Adrian if you call and I'm sure he'll look after you. Absolute perfectionist! 01938561717

+1 for Hamilton, if you ring them up they will probably make you one to fit. I haven't looked on their website in a while they may already do one for a Chimaera. They are the best in car covers IMO.

I use a Noah tailored cover for my Cerb and my previous Griff and another car (seperate covers, not the same one)
http://www.covercraft-europe.com/our-covers/car-co...
I also used a Leven hood cover for my Griff when it was dirty. Basically don't cover a dirty car as the cover will scratch it over time. Lots of people will tell you that covers scratch your car but I've not had any problems, as long as the car (and the inside of the cover) are clean. Obviously washing your car before covering is often a ball-ache so it doesn't always get covered, no problem with the Cerb (or the Griff to be fair) but the little Leven cover for the roof is great to stop water (and frost on the windows)
The Noah cover is pretty sturdy as well and squashes to a decent size to fit in the boot.

Peter,

I live in Bromley. You are in the South East. I have both the Leven one and the Hamiltons Claasic cover. I recommend both for different reasons. You more than welcome to have look at them and try them if you want before deciding. Pm me if your interested.
