£260 with brake fluid change!!
Trouble is it's on HP finance, and she feels uncomfortable about it not having a Pug dealer stamp in the book.
Personally I'd consider this car to be fine for many, many miles to come so think she should break the 3 year finance trap and just buy this one outright and run it for several more years. That means absolutely no need for those Lion stamps in the book.

and the fluid change is ontop of the 2 year service? what's actually done in the 2 year service?
Am I correct that the main dealer hourly rate is £78 for peugeot? so even if it all takes 2 hours, almost £160 of it is labour.

I know BMW charge £125/hr, a routine service is charged at 1hour labour. I happen to know mechanics can do one in 20mins, the customer still pays for the full hours labour. Using a bit of misleading maths you're effectively paying somebody £375/hour to change oil.
OP speak to a couple of main dealers and see who comes out cheapest.

I was just guessing at it running into 2 hours, I'd imagine 1 hour and 1 second would be billed as 2 hours

It seems the process works by charging the customer for an amount of time, lets say 1hour@£80, then they give the mechanic a target time of 40mins
its just a smart way to charge a higher labour charge without the customer noticing.Also, if the mechanic finishes the job faster than his alloted time and moves onto the next job, effectively beating his targets, he gets bonus.
My daughter's Golf had its first service recently - first, second and third services are basically just oil & filter changes and a few checks, with brake fuild at 3ys, nothing else gets changed until 4yrs - the car is on VWs service plan so I didn't expect to get an invoice.
However the dealer asked me if I'd like a copy of the one they send to VW. They charge VW £68, including parts, labour and VAT. If the dealer would give the public those prices, that's would be significantly cheaper over 3yrs than the £299 the service plan cost!
