ML W164 underbody skid plates?
Discussion
Our 320CDI is currently an entirely road-oriented car but since we put some Grabber AT tyres on it for the snow 2 years ago, we realised just how competent a 4x4 it could be and intend to have a go at "light" off roading - no 2 metre deep rivers, mud baths or quarries, but some slippery inclines and gravel/unpaved roads.
We intend to keep it to the bitter end so although I'm not bothered about its resale value, I would like to keep it "nice", so I'm after either a set of Mercedes underbody skid plates (if they exist - info is sketchy - they are listed in the offroad package but noone actually seems to have them) or some idea where I could mount some custom-made ones.
The important aspects must be:
1. Close fit to the underbody so as to retain what ground clearance there is.
2. Mounts (on the car) designed for the job - I don't want to damage the underbody because the mounting was weak.
Any ideas please?
