Just found this and it makes interesting reading. Everything you never knew about the M5 (and a lot about your M6).

In light of my current woes, if I was to get hold of one each of these items direct from LUK/Sachs or wherever, would BMW fit them and retain the AUC warranty? Do they have to be genuine BMW parts in genuine BMW boxes?
