November 2012 Photo Challenge ENTRY thread
Discussion
This thread for entries only.
The topic for this month will be EVERYDAY. It could be a different perspective on an everyday item or activity; or simply a striking pictutre of the mundane or everyday world. I'm looking for something that grabs my attention or piques my curiosity.
Remember, this is the 'Challenge', so shots must be taken in November and specifically for the challenge.
As usual, the rules:
The photos taken must be your own work
The shot MUST be taken this month, with the closing date being midnight on the last day of the Challenge month
The exif must be posted with your shot
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
The Challenge for next month should be generic, as not everyone has access to zoom, macro, specialist lenses. It should be shots that everyone is capable of achieving with the bare essentials.
There will be two threads that need starting: The Entries thread to commence same time as Discussion thread. In the Entries thread only one picture should be entered. Any others you wish to discuss should be posted in the Discussion thread.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo. Some people still have black and white tellies, and use these stupid 3G phone things for browsing the interweb. Links to larger versions are permissible.
Good luck!

Every day I see this statue on the top of its hill (it looks down on where I work) and it's taken me nearly two years to work out exactly where it is to get to photograph it.

Well a pretty thin entry list this month so thanks to Dogsey and Chips and Cheese for submitting entries.
Anyway down to business
Runner up this month is

I liked the picture and it's very well executed, but it didn't really grab my attention although I am curious as to where this is as it is an unusual everyday item.
So that means the winner is

I liked the light trails and it was a dramatic image of your mundane daily commute. Shame that the foreground was a bit blurred but still a nice shot
So over to you for this months challenge

Thanks ColinRedGriff!
After being the only entrant for most of the month, I thought Dogsey was going to steal the win at the last minute!
Really nice shot.
I agree, I would have liked the foreground sharper in my entry. Think I need to find another way of securing the camera - a gorillapod on the rear shelf above the engine just didn't hold it steady enough!
Anyways, I will go create threads for this month's challenges.
ETA: New challenges are up:

Please can a mod replace the stickies with the new threads.
