New car conundrum

Hi all,

Im planning a new daily drive in the new year & need some advice please. I have a race car so doesnt need to be track ready, but I also have a 4 month son who ill like to be able to fit in for short trips.

Ive always wanted a 911, ill get that out there now. Always been a VAG man so the RS4 is high on the list but also like the cls55 AMG.

Budget is circa £17k

So options:

996 911 C2 3.6 facelift (also the easiest to maintain myself)
2006+ RS4
cls55 AMG

Has anyone had any dealings with these cars? suggestions etc will be fantastic.

Itll just be the daily comute, so thinking the 911 best fits the bill. Dont really need another big car in the household to warrant the rs4 / AMG but wont dismiss them.

Afraid I have none of those, however my pick would be the 911 by a country mile. Personally I like the look of the 996's and it must be several rungs up from the others in terms of drive and feel.

thanks, spose it is the one ive always been gunning towards - just didnt want to make sure i wast putting the others to one side for no reason.

I want the C2 as the C4S is just a bit too safe and unnecessary really.

They do look amazing, and can find some with the aero kit which looks smart. Some KW coilies and LM's will make it perfect.

If you can afford and justify a 911 at this stage of your life then don't hesitate a second longer.
996's are great value now too. Go find one and start having fun.

Thanks, its certinaly one to "tick off the list". Im very fortunate to be in this position.

Yes the 996 is cracking value with a 3.6 facelift on 60k miles starting from just £14k!

Done look out for me in the new year - im sure ill be making it my own!
