Sports Cars - Modern Classic or Traditional ?

Looking at the bargain prices of some quite recent sports cars I'm inclined to see them as an alternative to a "real" classic.

I'm not talking about MX5's but cars such as the early Boxster and so on.

For a rarer option how about an Alpina S Roadster ? I owned one of these new and thought it a fantastic car. One for sale now at £12k with only 24k miles. Surely a safe punt as a future classic ?

You know, I have a Lotus Excel, a Mini Clubman Rally Car, a Volvo Estate & a Peugeot 306 and I'd trade them all (together) for a nice Chimaera.
Although How I would pay for the fuel is a question though...
Loved my old 4.0 HC M945NOP where are you now - probably laid up with a rusty chassis I guess as I used it as a daily through 3 winters.

I have a 1985 911 carrera, a 1988 Lotus esprit turbo and a 1995 TVR Chimaera.

They are all amazing cars in their own way and all mint condition but the TVR is the best by far - quickest, most comfortable, best looking and best noise.
