Australia as his next adventure......?

Mate is a bit fed up with things here at the moment and he is a qualified ref and a/c engineer (10 years in the trade as well as working for himself for a while) and is looking at Australia as his next adventure......

He has 2 police cautions dating back some 5 and 15 years for a bit of the fisticuffs. What are his chances re police record etc and where are the best places to look for vacancies

I have just come back from Australia, all be it a Working Holiday Visa. I spent 6 months backpacking and 5 months working in Melbourne for a bank.

My 2p's worth would be that Australia loves a 'tradie' If your mate has qualifications and certs then chances are Australia will want him. Maybe contact an immigration lawyer for advice on the criminal record.

I'd suggest http://www.seek.com.au/ also, Gumtree is huge in Australia especially for self employed/cash jobs.
