Okay guys, I'm going to be starting a project in the next two/three months after i gather some more cash.. (to get a few more tools) But that aside.. I will be making a replica Aston Martin DB5. Ive been meaning to do it for some time now and finally have the time and funds to do it. My Question is can you enlarge a mold? if so how? if not.. how could i go about making the body panels with out existing ones? The chassis is planned out and not such an issue however the Panels are very daunting. In all seriousness a little help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Yes it is possible, I have done it the old fashioned way, no computers used, a lot of hard work but worth it, very satisfying. I reckon to do the buck and take moulds etc on my project took circa 1,200hrs.

Thanks Jeff for your comments, yes it`s been fun and educational and with luck will soon be able to zoom about the place in it!
Regarding updates, we have been very busy doing the chassis in CAD so we can then get it laser cut to help in production, been busy designing the suspension and also all the uprights, these will be machined from billet, sorting brakes (4 pots with 290mm floating discs)and all other things to do with going into production. I originally just wanted to build one for myself but have been approached by someone who is interested in making kits of it, so we have been busy trying to make it more user friendly/easy to assemble etc. I will have the 2nd "works" chassis in my workshop by the end of April, so I will be updating my Flickr pictures when I have something to show.
There is of course much work still to be done, I have a lot more panels to make and then mould, seats and interior panels etc etc but I hope to have mine done mid next year whilst the demo car (which is being built in Holland) should be somewhere handy for Oct this year as it will be going to one of the kit car shows, Essex way I believe.
