My black plastic front number plate plinth is rather dull and discoloured. If I put plastic dressing on it it only looks god for a short while.
I would like to paint it gloss or satin black.
Has anyone else done this?
Could you advise on how to prime it etc and what paint to use on it.

You will need a plastic etch primer readily available from Helfrauds
But IMHO why would you?
Just remove it wink

Exactly, take it off and stick a 3/4 size plate onto it

Nope, going to be keeping it for the next owner should he/she want to ruin the looks again wink

How much is a new part from AML? Probably less than you spend on making the old one shiny smile

Remove it.

Or wrap it.

It's a very expensive piece of plastic, I think trying to paint it will be some what cheaper.

Get rid of the plinth and invest in smaller plates , a few chaps on here have done it and it looks so much better.

I have left it in with my local body shop and asked them to prime and paint it gloss black, I should get it back any time.
