distributor cap resistors?
Discussion
Hi there to all PH'ers from a relative newbie (I've been just lurking and reading all the wise words in the archives until now!).
Between the dizzy cap and the HT leads I've got these intermediate connectors - one of which is broken. So, my first question is: Are these some form of extra resistor?
I thought that the resistor component of the HT circuit was the Vauxhall metal plug shrouds. Looking at a few piccies of the V8 engine (in 'The Bible') I can't see these extra 'resistors' fitted and I'm wondering if I actually need them.
BTW the machine itself is a 500.
Any thoughts and comments on the subject would be most welcome.

Hi,
The resistors are normally buit into the metal heat shrouds. however, these are available with or without resistors and it may be that seperate resistor packs have been added because the wrong shrouds have been installed.
An inline resistor pack is not expensive if you just need to replace a broken one although it does sound like a non-standard setup.
I may be completely wrong though!
