Ok I have the arp bolts fitted on the flywheel , I cannot get the socket onto the head of the bolts , the spigot bearing is fouling the socket wall. How do I get this out to allow me to fit the socket head over the arp bolts ?.or do I need a special thin wall socket ?. Cheers

I would say you probably do if your using an impact socket, might be worth having a spare on standby incase it snaps, mine has the original flywheel bolts so im only guessing.

We have a socket with the sidewall ground thin to fit. Nothing special or impact and has done us ok for years!

That's what I would do, I have a selection of old, ground down sockets from various jobs.

I had mine off a few month ago on my griff (standard bolts) and I don't remember the spigot bearing being proud of the flywheel surface. Certainly didn't have a problem getting a socket on them.

I managed to get mine off with a standard 3/8 drive Draper Expert socket - no grinding required, except teeth.

Grrr well ground down two sockets and they now fit smile 19mm and 3/4 both fit but don't want use impact wrench in case I round em, I guess I need to know if the arp bolts are a metric head or not before letting rip with the wrench. Any ideas, do I need to lock the wheel or is the impact gun the way to go ?

The ARP exhaust bolts have an AF head and so I would assume that your flywheel ones are as well, (the RV8 is all AF iirc).
