Hi All, first post on this forum. Bought a 57 plate vantage back in May and have enjoyed every minute of it. The car is still under AM warranty and have had some work done by AM Walton on Thames, with a 60/40 split on costs. Just had the 50K service and they said the n/s front alloy is cracked. Picked it up (in the dark) and for the life of me on inspection, can't find the crack. They say these can't be repaired and I ought to buy a replacement - have found one for £300. Is that a fair price? Are guidance gratefully received.

I had the same thing on my 07 car. The split was on the inside edge of the wheel, it could only be seen with the car up on a ramp. I bought a new wheel from Aston, but did give some thought to getting it repaired, but I took the easy option.

Welcome to the forum. Pictures of the car are required! smile
Why if the car is under warranty are you making any contribution for work? Or is it for paint defects?

Plenty for sale on Ebay all the time for a lot less than that. Some are refurbished, some include tyres.

will post pic - the work was for rust spots under the paint work by both door handles - only small but wanted to take care off them before they spread. AM adamant that as it hadn't ' perforated' the paint work it wasn't covered and offered 60/40. They also paid 60 pc towards an new instrument cluster ( if that's what you call it)as the leather had come away.

Really, fake vantage wheels? Are you sure, can't be a market large enough to justify making them. Are you sure?

It's a pity it's a front one that's cracked as I have a spare (refurbished) rear one that I no longer need.
