Myself and my flatmates have been looking for a TV for our living room, and we've been offered a Pioneer PDP-425PE for £200. I know next to nothing about TV's so have been searching for reviews of this model, I can't find anything for this model number so maybe he made a mistake and its the PDP-435PE?

Assuming its that model, would it be suitable for us? Theres two on ebay for £150, so is £200 a little dear, considering 2012 model Samsung and LG 42/43 inch tv's are about £320 now?

We aren't home cinema buffs so it will only be used for Sky TV (standard def) and PS3.

Should we go for it if he knocks >£50 off, or is it worth spending the extra for a current model South Korean TV?

thanks in advance for any advice.

Why would you buy a second hand tv at that price when you can buy a new one?

This one is a bit over budget but there are other slightly smaller ones for less than £200 (and the one I linked to is sat in the corner, I am very happy with it smile)

I have the Pioneer and it knocks socks off most TVs. Pioneer were regarded as one of the best plasmas and it was noted as a crime they gave up making.
The only down side is the separate tuner box, but if you have a rack / stand, you will be fine. I would say it would be better than the ebay offer by far
