Soo... I remember a few years ago there was a Pistonheads Palmersport day.

I'd definitely like to do a day some time next year, and I assume there are lots of Pistonheads out there who would too!

Was the last day something organised by the Pistonheads staff? or was it just something organised by people on the forum?

Would anyone be interested in doing the same again?

Well I guess this isn't the forum to attract attention, most people here probably already driving their cars on track.

I'd be up for it, but not sure how to help it happen really.

Don t know how much now , but could be around £700. It is in my opinion a brilliant value day out, so if we can get numbers to get a discount I could be tempted. (I took my son for his xmas present a few years ago)

I believe a day happened, but we weren't involved in the organisation as we don't have any deals/ relationships with the MSV chaps.

Probably best to get folk together and call for a bulk deal than use PH to move it on, but if anyone fancies the challenge please keep me updated smile

Well the standard cost is now around £950. I'll have a word with them over the next few days and see if there's a deal to be done.

That does look like a good day out!
I would possibly be up for it if I'm about on the date.

Indeed, OP - Give them a call and ask how many people they need booked to start getting discount and what kind of discount is on offer.

The 'usual' way I've seen 'group buys' done is that there's a standard price for buying "one" and then discounts increase with numbers. So there may be a 2-20, 21-40, 41-60, 61+ Price bands. You'll need to get your best negotiating hat on though. Also, give thought to how the cash will be handled for booking. Are you going to stump up for everyone to pay you back, or are you going to get Palmer to handle it all? If it's the later then you have to think about why they'd give us a discount if they're doing all the work as if it were individual bookings?

I'd be up for this.

I've raced in historic saloons for years, but would like to try single seaters and sports cars in a situation where you are allowed full rein - would I be right in thinking Palmersport allows this? Looks like it from the website. Would be coming from Carlisle though! Also a cheaper way than buying on and finding out I prefer saloons!

So put me down as a 'definitely interested'!

Yup, I've done one of these in the past; the instructors are amazing at 'pushing' you.

I have done a few of these with work over the years - costly but excellent all round day with very little to improve it on. I'd be interested.

We take around 80 people each year and they don't generally discount hardly any atall . Usually we get the SuperRide thrown in - which are great fun for clients but not sure people on PH wouldn't prefer a discount of some sort. Happy to check with our events organiser for the SP on what we pay if of any use.

Did a half day with them a few months ago which was fantastic. As above little they can do to improve on it. The full day packages seem less appealing though, 1k for some off roading and more laps

I've been running a day at Palmersport for a group of friends for years, and a number of PH'rs have joined us.

Today, I was on the phone to them arranging next year's trip for my friends and asked them if anybody had been in touch w.r.t a PH day as I'd seen this thread - it seems not, so I asked for a date & price from them for PH.

Sat March 9th 2013 for a PH price of £595 + VAT. Now, that's a deal - which includes damage insurance (for those over 21) and catering.

If anyone fancies this, just give them a call. I'm going, which means I have to go twice in 2013 :-)

That seems like a really good price for an amazing day. Will check my dates but it looks a runner for me.
