A friend thinks his fuel pump is playing up and I'd be grateful if someone could let me know the manufacturer and model of the genuine item please. Is there any advantage to a different make or model if he has no plans to improve performance etc in the future?

The 3R uses a Bosch 0580254 910. I upgraded to a M400 pump, Bosch 0580254 979 as I had my car remapped. If he's going for alot more power most people go for the Bosch 044 pump. Search "Bosch" or "fuel pump" under the noble section and there is plenty of info.

If he thinks he is suffering from fuel starvation tell him to check the ARV (anti roll over valve). It's a common weakness in our cars and most have binned them, replacing it with an aftermarket version. Again just search "arv" in the noble section. Try having a look at this to start http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

My 3R was upgraded to the M400 pump. It was noisy and in the end produced problems during my first ever remap. Now has an 044 and no problems.
