So my mother's netherland dwarf rabbit (male) is about 8 months old now and is the most miserable rabbit i have ever seen. Its virtually impossible to get anywhere near him without him growling at you (i didnt even know rabbits made a noise until this bugger turned up!)or simply running away. He's well cared for with all the things i can think of that a rabbit would like so why does he still insist on being so grumpy?

Are you reaching into his hutch/space? Does he do this on neutral ground?

Maybe you just need some familiarity?

Rabbits can get very territorial around thier hutch, out of all my 50 odd rabbits i only have 2 that are like this, most of the noise they make is just them threating , get in there with a pair of gloves on if your too woosy to go bare handed

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes he's been neutered. If anything he's gotten worse since having it.

I've got 2 Dutch does, they're always growling if you go near their hutch, the rest of the time, they lie there grooming each other.
