Stumbled across this in a Danish newspaper and thought this might be just the car a lot of PH members would be interested in.

The Huet Brothers Coupe

Available in classic, road racer and pure racing form according to the HB Coupe website with a 4 cylinder engine from 170 to 255 (cosworth tuned) BHP. Weight going as low as 800 kg and rear wheel drive.

Looks a bit funny from the front to my eyes, but the rear end is quite right.

What does the PH massive think?

A 50's Maserati lookalike.

Not sure it does it for me, but interesting.

I think the looks have potential but need a little more refinement to actually be aesthetically pleasing.

I'd love to hear Bugatti's legal department's views on the badge...

I agree, it's very close to being beautiful.

Some better wheels, a bit of a redesign below the headlights and around the pillars plus a nice colour (deep blue perhaps) and it's near perfect.

Looks good, but if you're going to spend at least £55k on a car with classic looks, why not just buy a classic?

Possible to buy without engine and fit a unit of one's own choice?

Nice effort.

But I'd have this instead for half the price

Usability.

Agree it is strong money though.

When I saw the prices that was my exact thought.

Id like for this to work. But to be honest I think they're a little crazy.

They've managed to secure 17 reservations for what is essentially some very good computer renderings of a car that doesn't actually exist yet - As far as I can tell, no physical prototype has been made.

The original press release towards the start of the year was with a BMW straight 6, this has now been downgraded to a 2.0 ford duratec.

A 2.0 duratec (VERY cheap to buy new) in an unnecessary carbon monocoque (nice, but not really needed, they could build it out of steel and frp and it would come out under a ton) - for £60-£80k! Its not good value. At all.

Styling is trying a bit too hard for my tastes- but I hope its a success, as it would pave the way for more small car companies to pop up gain support (ie. TVR-esque)

I'm liking that a lot especially in base trim but as others have said, it really doesn't need a carbon tub. Make it from steel and sell the base model for less than £35k and they could be on to something but at that price, no thanks.

I like it. I'm sure the Ginetta will handle better, but the rarity and the retro styling of the HB would probably swing it for me.

That was my first thought. A bit too similar I think.
A bit?
