I need to buy some steelies for my winter tyres and was looking at Oponeo, anyone bought anything from them, any issues etc I need to be aware of?

Plus has anyone got any knowledge of steelies, they do differing price ones, is it likely just to be the quality which is better, anything I need to look out for?

www.oponeo.co.uk

Cheers

Yes - They're a massive polish company.

As long as you don't mind waiting for delivery, and giving your money to another economy, you'll have no problems with their service.

They are fine to be honest, I was looking for some tyres and they came out the cheapest by £20 per corner.

Only problem was there was a glitch on their system and the tyres I had paid for were not actually in stock. However, once I had declined their offer of a similar tyre (plus or minus any difference in cost) the money was returned to my credit card promptly and with no problems at all. I'd happily shop there again smile

I ordered 4 x Toyo Snowproxes from them a couple of weeks ago and they arrived 3 days later. Great service and their price was the cheapest I could find anywhere.....£106 each for 235/45/18's.

Any other suggestions then? I'd rather decent quality etc but I assume they're all made in the same bl**dy factory anyway!?

They do seem really good value but I don't have the urge to spend my money in another country.

The tyres will be the same tyres you can buy in the UK, as you say, made in the same factory certainly. You're just helping another economy wink

Tyremen is the best UK place I know of for wheels and tyres, or ebay the wheels and get tyres from somewhere like lovetyres.

I used them for my winter tyres recently.

Absolutely no problems with service, tyres took 9 days to arrive which was fine as I wasn't in a rush.

They were the cheapest by a country mile!

Thanks for the responses fellas, appreciated.

Looked at tyremen, £210 for steelies, or about £140 from oponeo, but the tyremen ones do say they're from Germany!

Any other suggestions, if I could get decent German made ones a little cheaper from a UK company that'd be perfectsmile

However buying cars from which a large portion of the original purchase price did is ok? Seems like a bitter and uneccesary ending to your post
