Through multiple weddings and stags I haven't driven in just over five weeks (I only drive at the weekends).

I will be out in the Griff tomorrow so decided I should go and plug in the battery charger. But, I wondered how many volts remained, so put the keys in the ignition...just over 11 volts was showing. Turned the key and she fires into life!

I am amazed. My Cerbera was iffy after three days - four days and you had no chance. I still can't believe it, over five weeks in an outside garage and started first turn. To my knowledge the car hasn't had a new battery in the last 6 years either.

I know this is a bit of a pointless story but it is rare anything in life impresses me and I am impressed.

Ditto here, have left the Griff for well over 4 weeks whilst in the States and it fires up, battery is same one I bought the car with 5+ years ago, so who knows how old......

Same for me have always been able to leave the Griff for a month or even more without a problem, hate doing it though wink. Carl Baker told me it's to do with the alarm drain, later systems being much lighter.

Yep, mine was the same - I was in the states for nearly 5 weeks, I had a bet with my wife that the battery would be as flat as a witches tit when we got home, the looser had to buy the takeaway the night we got home.

Well what do you know? It fired up 1st time!

Since then it's struggled to start because of the cold weather, so it's on a accumate now.

you might not have the record... but how about 5 batteries in a year... that was my consumption of batteries if left longer then 3 weeks, until having new door pads fitted at the switches (were ingaging enough to turn lights off, but not enough to shut relay fully)
