Could not see anything on this but have just read the link below. Does anybody else see the irony of segregating yourself in order to fight segregation

I am particularly annoyed by the quota idea - positive discrimination at its best

I must say that I agree with having longer bans, but disagree with their stance saying that Clattenburg should be suspended. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty rolleyes

I don't feel that I am qualified really to dicuss this but I am not sure it's the right way to go about fighting racism.

What is definitely clear is that their is not enough progression of Black players onto the coaching and management staff at clubs at the top level. That might be a question of timing though....a tiny % of players go on to managerial or coaching roles and a lot of todays top managers were playing long before there was a significant amount of black players...as an example Harry Redkanpp retired as a player in 1982 when there were very, very few black players in the UK. Maybe it's a question of time.

The issue they have about White Hart Lane is a weird one. To my knoweldge it's the only club in the the Premier League known to have a core of supporters from a specific racial and religious background and the supporters are obviously proud of it. The issue with that is that given the tribal nature of football supporters they will latch on to anything associated with another club....I remember a thread on here where there were a decent amount of people who didn't know why Spurs were called the "Yids". As an Arsenal supporter I remember Spurs fans turning up with banners of the Star of David at Higbury in the 80's and draping them over the old clock at Highbury that is clearly going to incite a reaction. Who is in the wrong there ? One set of fans is inciting a reaction using a religious symbol and the other set of fans is reacting to it. Six of one and half a dozen of the other.........
