Has anyone had a new windscreen fitted recently. mine is laminating! tadts. wondered how much and by who.

another question the torsion bar ball joints still connected but the rubber is gone on the drop down links would this cause wandering at high speed, are they difficult to fit

Cost of screen £215ish including VAT - TVR Gatwick.

£50 to install (friend of trimmer), my other screen was completely out so this doesn't help much as I suspect most of the work/cost is in taking it out!

You might want to invest in new rubbers as they really set it off - not too expensive.

I’ve not had this done but like a few other jobs it’s on the list.

I think I’d go to a TVR dealer to have it done as there seem to be a few issues over damage to trim if not done properly and you might need to mention this to your insurers, if you go that way, as they’ll want you to use Auto Glass et al.

It has been covered a few times on here so do a search for more detail.

Cheers,

Simon.

Mine was de-laminating too. If you look at the pic on my profile I think you can see it in the bottom nearside corner of the screen. I just did mine on the insurance. Doesnt affect your no claims (well it didnt on my old Sunninghill Policy) and cost about £60 excess. Autoglass did mine. Its not the sort of job they can do from a mobile unit, it has to be taken to the workshop. And be prepared for a long wait - mine took the best part of 5 hours! The really annoying thing is that I only had it done a year ago and I've just got a huge stone chip in it. Grrrrrrrr.
