Without rain there would be no rainbows

I can’t say I was over the moon when the Small Block Chevrolet motor grenaded itself at Oulton earlier in the year (thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... but it was the kick-in-the-pants I needed to give up trying to squeeze power out of the ‘old school’ motors.
I’ve been having an LS7 [re] built with some other goodies and finally I’ve had the time to pick it up – been gallivanting round the planet too much with work of late to do anything much sooner.
Assuming it actually fits in the car without more chassis mods (I hope it does, since the Small Block fitted it) then there still a wee winter project to make up headers, dry sump tank, fuel system, and all the other stuff that I haven’t thought of yet…but this is looking healthy

625bhp. Yup…SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE HORESPOWER, and the torque hits 500ft/l bar 3500rpm, peaking at 581 ft/lb.
When I SVAd the car a few years ago with all fluids (full tank of fuel) it was just over the 1000Kg mark. I’d like to think that now with an alloy block, lighter clutch, lighter bellhousing (if I can find one to fit) and low fuel load that it would be road/track ready sub 1000Kg
That is all.
For now
