I put some Infinity 6000CS component speakers in the doors and some 10cm Pioneers in the back.

Better clarity, but if your looking for bass you won't find any no matter which speakers you use. You need a sub for that...

Does anybody know what size sub will fit in the cubby hole? Even better, does anybody have a pic of a sub fitted with dimensions?

Cheers,

Rob

I'm working on putting a sub (Infinity Perfect10) in the cubby hole but I'm not too sure if I will need to box it or if I can just build a mount and fit it in there.
I get the impression not all openings are equal so even if you get dimensions it may still need a little trimming to fit.

I would be interested in seeing exactly what people have built to fit in there rather than just a picture of it all in place.

I've recently upgraded the ICE in my Cerb with the following:

Front: Infinity 6002i Reference Coaxial (i think)
Rear: Infinity 4002i Reference Coaxial
Sub: Infinity 1020W
Amp: Kenwood 4 x 250W (can't remember model)

The sub is mounted on an MDF frame which sits very snugly in the cubby-hole. I didn't put it in an enclosure as the area behind the cubby opening is about the right size for acting as one. To be honest, with the engine on you won't gain anything from a really expensive install - it just needs to sound balanced.

If anyone wants pictures of the install (including taking the sub out) i can certainly do it.

Cheers,

Keith

Edited to say that a 10" sub is the biggest you'll find in the cubby (at least in a 98 Cerb)

I would be interested in seeing a couple of pictures of the frame you made to put the sub in, if possible.

I've already done the fronts, rears and amp. Just got to do the sub now.

cheers

You can only achieve bass by having a baffle behind the driver(speaker) so for the cerb the holes are so shallow, the standad pioneers are actually not bad speakers but they sound cak because they need decent air behind them to operate properly,,,1 question dont you have a twin exhaust at the back providing the most glorious soundtrack of all?

My Cerb came with recently fitted Sony xPlod speakers all round, xPlod sub (in the cubby hole) and , I think, an xPlod amp in the boot (thanks to Sportie). The sub is a bloody great red thing and gets all types pointing and going "fk look at that speaker!!" . Still cant hear sheite at full chat, but eases the boredom in traffic jams.

Ive gotta go put some more parking vouchers on him soon, so I'll take the digi over and try to get some shots. No idea how to post them tho, so if i struggle I'll email the pics to those who want them?

I've put a 10" JL sub in the helmet holder between the rear seats, and a sub in the boot (Genesis Profile 4). I managed to get the volume needed for the sub to work at its optimum rate. If I remember; 0.65/0.7 cu ft. This fell within the limits set out by JL. I think the min was 0.5cu ft and the max was over 1 cu ft.
Still got to upgrade door speakers.

Can be removed if needed.

Yes , sports and decat, and yes it's bleedin loud and spits the odd flame or two (a few of the Yorkshire mob have commented).... but, theres the odd time, in a traffic jam or when it's raining and the windows go up or when the better half is in the car, that a bit of music is needed.

has any one with an older cerb upgraded the centre 6x9 speaker? Looking to do this but some have really big magnets on the back and was wondering what would fit?
