Maclaren F1 or AMG CLK GTR.
Discussion
I have some spare cash which isn't enough to buy either but given the choice which would you have? From my understandings the AMG used an F1 to get the aero right before producing the car. So I guess by some strange logic they are related.
Think I prefer the merc, it looks more brutal and the noise it makes is insane.
Pics of both.

Somewhat Ironic given the F1 Lemans success and the Mercs wish to actually be an aeroplane down the Mulsanne rather than a car.GroundEffect said:
CLK every time.
PS: That's a CLR you've posted, not the GTR.
I believe that is a CLK GTR, the CLR was a race car only and looked significantly different. Strictly, it was a prototype not a GT car. PS: That's a CLR you've posted, not the GTR.
For me, the McLaren is so much more desirable you can't compare the two. The CLK was a cynical homologation special which would be virtually undriveable on the road, whereas the F1 was a proper road car which subsequently formed the basis of a successful GT racer.

Which Mercedes was it that would do backflips?
It was the racing version of the CLK GTR. I wouldn't imagine it was an issue unless you're porpoising down the Mulsanne Straight, though. It's a tricky one. I love the leftfield appeal of the CLK and I'd probably go for that one as a collectors item. Sadly I have no idea what either is like to drive, but I'd hazard a guess the F1 would be a little less intimidating (by '90s hypercar standards) and hence my choice.
The CLK just makes me think of a not great race car turned into a road , on the thinking that a race car on the road must be the ultimate. I don't believe it is.
Mclaren set out to build the finest road car first, but with a day in a wind tunnel also became a stunning race car. There is nothing about the CLK that makes me think 'want'.

Hate to pick on grammar--but it's "it's".I pick the Mclaren F1.
The Merc: it may not be as good but it is much more imaginative. Besides, contemporary road tests suggested it was an animal beyond taming, which sounds like fun to me.
