I listed my high milage (300,000 miles) A4 Tdi at 12.00.

At 12.02 I had already recieved an offer to 'end it now' for a reasonable cash amount, and since then I've recieved maybe 7 or 8 calls asking 'end it now for cash'.

Anyone else get this kind of response? It doesn't make much sense to me. My only thought is that its 'ebay motor traders' who want a high milage but good condition car so that they can make 200,000 miles 'dissapear' on it.....

How well priced is it compared to similar?
Could be small traders looking for something to flip.

The guy that made the offer, Can you see his feedback etc... ?

I sold a car on ebay recently and not an hour after it went live i was getting craploads of texts from people saying "give you £1500 cash today" the car was worth £3.5k theres loads of timewasters out there but a few genuine ones aswell
Best was a few texts saying how much to end the auction and i would reply £3.5k and they would say something like "i only got a grand" lol

Sold an A4 diesel end of August, experienced the same noise, I just let the auction run.

They turn up and offer half the mount in cash saying the car wasn't what they thought, hoping you will have wasted enough time and be hassled enough to take the offer.

^^^This it's a very easy way to make money as so few buyers are diligent.

They'll clock it to 100k and make a quick £1,000

Quite likely, although as posted elsewhere a lot of eastern Europeans are snapping up premium diesel cars irrespective of mileage as they are worth significantly more in their country (either as part donors or running).

Currently have mine on eBay, but not had that kind of interest (annoyingly, yet understandably at the same time given its a completly different type of car)

Have had alot more views than I expected mind, see if anything comes of it at the end of the listing on Sunday evening

Sold on ebay (all minor defects fairly described) to a trader who hadn't seen the car.

He turned up with his transporter, paid the full price in cash and took the car away.

Perfect!

i sold a renault espace diesel, 140,000 miles no reserve, for £320 a years mot an in quite good condition wit a drop down dvd screen
they won without viewing, and turned up to collect, they came from Leicester to tottenham. it was a cold day and the husband stayed in the car, even though he was an mot tester!!! in the ad it stated that the clutch was a little stiff as i had just put a new cable on. he drove it home to leicester, and the next day she left me negative feedback saying it needed a new clutch

Anyone sold a car worth say 20k on there?

I am tempted to list my car on Ebay if it is attracting the Eastern Europeans?

My dad sold a few classics on there to foreign buyers circa £12k - they never viewed just sent rather ropey trucks to collect them.

With high value stuff I personally think you are better with a classified ad (on Ebay)
