3.2 carrera no spark?
Discussion
Can anyone give me any advice as where to start to look for problem.
Took N/S/R wheel off to clean the inner arch after a light hosing to get rid of
dirt put wheel back on then tried to start but nothing.
Motor turns over strongly but doesn't catch.
Is it because I hosed under there perhaps or could it be something else?
Your thoughts and comments would be most welcome chaps.

Are you sure it is spark? Have you checked for that..
If your not sure and are just guessing no spark I would first personally start checking DME relay, sits under passenger seat
In your car, these are common to fail and would stop the fuel pumping through which obviously would cause the engine just to turn over.. Should ideally carry spare DME relay at all times anyway as potentially will fail at sometime

Wiggle the DME under the passenger seat - if necessary remove it completely and reinsert. If that doesn't work, I would suggest that you try to borrow one from someone - it's nearly always these littel buggers that cause the problem and it's probably coincidence that it failed after you jet washed the car (or maybe water ingress to the passenger floor area may have caused it to fail)

I struggled with this once and daft as it sounds it was out of fuel (gauge read nearly 1/4 tank too) so do make sure there's plenty in there. There can also be problems with the spark plug wiring harness.
But he's getting no spark - so why would that be a fueling issue?steve singh said:

Sounds odd, doesn't it? When mine was out of fuel there was no spark either, so worth eliminating the possibility. I'm not sure what signals are given to other systems when there's no fuel going in though.LWT RSR said:
Have replaced the DME relay and new Bosch distibutor and rotar arm.
Engine turns over strong but still wont catch.
Turned engine over with a plug lead out of the engine with plug in it ..no spark at the plug.
Is there anything else I might have missed or could check?
I had the exact same symptoms on mine and problem was down to a failed crankshaft sensor. Had both replaced a all sorted.Engine turns over strong but still wont catch.

There is plenty of feul in it as I put about £60 in the other day.
Checked the DME relay contacts were closing when I turned on the ignition the turned
the engine over. Was thinking of replacing the Ref sensor .Can this be done with the
engine in or not and would you change the speed sensor at the same time to eliminate
this from the equation? What about coil ???
