The D-type; isn't it strange that several months ago a car with the same chassis number appeared on the Adrian Hamilton site as being "the ex-Nigel Moores D-type". Well, it was, but then the original 570 was dismantled before it even left the factory it would seem, and parts used to repais XKC 403 (Reg OKV 2, the works Le Mans 1954 car). Money is taking over this passion, this hobby, and people seem to think that they can advertise as they will and put up any old bit of tat as "the real thing".

I just hope no one falls for it.

There's a Bugatti type 51 in the Classic mags this month that made £300K+,quoted as built

in the 80s using SOME original bits.

Also only 15% of what a REAL 51 would have made.

A complete minefield the old rebuilt classic stuff.

I used to work on a D type that was constructed from a pile of spares and a tub of less than certain parentage. All fine if those facts are disclosed, less so if there is a deception.
