Rules for drivers

Platinum-
Is a Professional driver generally recognized as well-known in International Series and satisfying at least one of the following criteria:

„h is under the age of 55;
„h has held a Super License (Formula One);
„h has won the Le Mans 24 Hours in the overall position;
„h has been a Works Driver paid by a car manufacturer;
„h has finished in top 10 in the championship classification in F3000, ChampCar/CART, IndyCar, GP2, Grand-Am Rolex Series (DP only), Le Mans Series (LMP1 or GT
only) , American Le Mans Series (LMP1 or GT only)
„h has finished in the Top 6 in the championship classification of an F3 international series (British/Euro F3) or a major international single-seater championship (Example:
World Series by Renault)
„h is a driver whose performances and achievements, despite not meeting one of the definitions above, may be considered as Platinum by IMSA.

Gold:-
Is a Professional or Semi-professional driver in International Series or who has distinguished himself in National Championships and satisfying at least one of the following
criteria:

„h a driver under the age of 55 and not satisfying the criteria of the Platinum category;
„h a driver who satisfies the criteria of the Platinum category but aged 55 to 59;
„h has raced competitively in an International Professional Karting Championship or single-seater series and is under 35 years of age
„h has finished in the top 10 in the championship classification of a secondary international single-seater series (A1 GP, Renault V6, FR2000 international, Firestone Indy
Lights, Atlantic Championship, etc.);
„h has finished in the top 6 in the general classification of a national single-seater series (F3,
Euro FR2000, Star Mazda Championship, etc.);
„h has finished in the top 3 in the championship classification of an entry level single-seater series (F-Ford, F-BMW, F-ZIP, Autosport Academy, USF2000 National
Championship, etc.);
„h has finished in the top 10 in the championship classification of the Porsche Supercup;
„h has finished in the top 5 in the championship classification of a National or International series organized by a manufacturer (Porsche, Seat, Peugeot, Renault, etc.)
„h is a driver whose performances and achievements, despite not meeting one of the definitions above, may be considered as Gold by IMSA.

Silver:-
An Amateur driver satisfying at least one of the following criteria:
„h a driver under the age of 60;
„h a driver aged under 30 and not satisfying the criteria of the Platinum or Gold categories;
„h a driver satisfying the criteria of the Platinum category but aged 60 or over;
„h a driver satisfying the criteria of the Gold category but aged 55 or over;
„h a driver who has finishes in 1st place in the general classification of National Championship or International Series in association with a professional driver;
„h a driver who has won a non-professional driver¡¦s series (Ferrari Challenge, Maserati Trofeo, Lamborghini Supertrophy, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge ¡K);
„h is a driver whose performances and achievements, despite not meeting one of the definitions above, may be considered as Silver by IMSA.

An Amateur driver of the following criteria:
„h a driver who was over 30 years old when their first racing license was issued, and/or who has little or no single-seater experience;
„h a driver satisfying the criteria of the Silver category but aged 60 or over;
„h any driver under 30 without significant race experience;
„h a driver whose performances and achievements, despite not meeting one of the definitions above, may be considered as Bronze by IMSA.


Rules for what they can drive

P2: Each team must have a minimum of one driver at the level of "Silver" or "Bronze" (amateur.
GT AM: Each crew may only include one driver of "Platinum" or "Gold" status, the other two must be from "Silver" or "Bronze".

It is important for the customer base for P2 and GTE Am

Another implication is how young, professional drivers like A Brundle, Ordonez, hartley structure a possible career with sportscar racing
