Throughout the year I go to a lot of car events, there you'll spot a vast array of cars from DB5's to F40's to Aventadors. All very interesting but dare I say it occasionally you can get a little blase about them, what interests me at times though are the occasional 'normal' cars in spotless condition that turn up, like this Fiesta with I think circa 20k miles (& yes that is a Miura behind it!)
The reason being that the ones we lust after have been looked after, cared for, restored, whilst the average everyday cars we all drove have all disappeared.
Take Sierra Cosworths, there are quite a few about, but when was the last time you saw a MK1 Sierra 1600!!
Any other spots or pics??

Depends what you're talking about, yes Morris Minors etc, but not ordinary cars from the past thirty years or so - I can't imagine say a 1600 Sierra is considered a classic for example and anyone who owns one would be in a club.Having recently moved on my Lotus Sunbeam I know that it's often the bread and butter stuff that is really hard to restore to a factory spec, not only is the tinware scarce but also often cached by wary owners and rarely finds it's way onto the market. Then there is the trim that was made from cheap plastics and designed to fall apart after a few years so seeing a nicely turned out Fiesta like that I know the owner probably has had a harder struggle getting to his goal than any more mainstream classic where it's just a case of writing the next cheque or swiping the plastic. The car I chose to fill the gap in my collection is infinitely more scarce than my old Sunbeam but being bespoke easier to restore.

I saw a friend at the weekend who has a completely standard 2wd Sapphire Cosworth. His comment was that it's really difficult to get standard parts as everyone wanted to sell him uprated stuff. He can't find std shocks for example - coilovers by the dozen though.....Ranger 6 said:

Good example - though I understand it's very difficult to get parts full stop for them. And this is kind of the crux, if it's an old 911 parts are relatively easy to get hold of. Want parts for a MK5 Cortina, I bet its nigh on impossible to source......acme said:
