An MX-5!!!!

1.6,65,000miles, W-reg, Bloody basic with wind up windows and no central locking but my god its fun!

Just needs a service and what not.

I am inlove after only ever owning hatchbacks and a Berlingo!

My Micra seems like it may well die soon, secretly i'm hoping that it does so i can buy one of these. Is it the 90hp uk one? If so, how does it drive?

On a W-reg it's a Mk2, so will be 110bhp.

Great to hear of another happy new owner.

An MX-5 NB is a far better car than a Porsche 924 too!

What effect did PU bushes have on yours? Was it an NA or an NB?

Id say dont be tempted to over-wheel it. 6"x15" Enkeis (OEM or aftermarket) are more thn enough.

Pics will come at the weekend when ive cleaned it. Just been out for a half an hour drive to nowhere, which i havent done in a long time (been driving a berlingo). It feels quite quick (ive been driving a berlingo) and the handling is lovely. Everything i expected.

Got a hardtop which is not much interest at the moment as the gimick of the soft top is too tempting but im sure it will come in usefull if we get any snow and im in the van.

NAs are a bit flexi-prone, arent they? Especially the early ones. NBs are less prone to flex and they cope with PU bushes a little better, although Id probably look at all new Mazda rubber bushes if I was considering doing mine.

It is now in garage getting fixed and serviced as it was only meant to be a weekend car but now i will be losing the motability car. Cant wait to get it back and go for a LONG drive!

My priority is stopping myself going off the rails. My priority is getting the mazda back so a long drive can be had instead of drinking myself silly everyday. 23 and losing your mother is not great and to not have something to fuel my passion is fustrating at this time as you can probably imagine.

Not to worry, a lot of people post for support on such things and we try to make sure they get it!

Very sorry to hear about your loss. While it might seem daft or even improper to some, I know what you mean about wanting the car back ASAP - sometimes you need that one thing to take your mind elsewhere, and going for a drive in a car you enjoy can help. Just take care when you do!
