Single handed, non-stop, round the world yacht race starts this weekend. There are three British skippers racing this year: Mike Golding, Samantha Davies, and Alex Thomson.

For those interested, there is an android (and iOS I assume) app available to follow it.

I am following Alex and Mike on Facebook. Alex had been ill, which can't have been much fun, then had to repair his rudder. It looks utterly gruelling, and they haven't got to the hardest part yet. Rather them than me!
