Hello Paul.
When I was in the process of getting a new hood for mine, HHC had some Chimp hoods for sale that I called to enquire about buying, believeing them to be the same size. Tony informed me that the rear sections on the Griff and Chimp are two different sizes. No reason to doubt him as he was keen to get rid of them.
HTH.

This is entirely correct, although the use of the word Chimp is not. The Griff rear section is designed to fit the stumpy fugugly Griff rear end, and will not fit the beautiful and graceful sweeping lines of the Chim so the two are not interchangeable. When I was in the process of getting a new hood for mine, HHC had some Chimp hoods for sale that I called to enquire about buying, believeing them to be the same size. Actually I don't think it does help.Hope this helps,

Amusing as they are (to you) I have to agree with Spend that you do have this very annoying habit of posting your ridiculously childish posts in threads that are asking proper questions about cars and as a result often side track threads into silly bickerings.
If you have nothing sensible to add why bother posting?

Just to add, I guess there's no point in finishing the article I was writing for Sprint about the SC install.
ETA, my response was to angryjock, and we have a bit of history with banter. You really didn't need to comment at all.

Yes of course I'd still like you to finish the piece I'm sure it'll be interesting and well written and that's why I think you're better than these sort of posts.
But it does get annoying when threads get hijacked (like we're doing now) but you have to admit even Chimaera owners use the phrase 'Chimp' to describe their cars at times (I believe you pulled up an owner in a thread recently)
I do have a sense of humour (I'm pretty sure you know that) but I really do think there's a time and a place. That's all.

There are alot of colour characters on this forum, who do go off post sometimes, its just knowing the right time to remark with these Jokes. But that what makes PH'eds so different to the TVR car club forum. Personally, I enjoy the banter and if not here when is the time and the place??

David, I'm sorry you feel that way. I was merely responding in what I thought was a humerous way to what you guys think is humerous when using the term 'Chimp'. It seems that it is OK for you to use humerous terms but not acceptable to get a humerous reply. I have to say I find this very disappointing, especially from you. I'd like to comment further, as I find this rather sad, but I'm sure you and Spend would find it 'ridiculously childish'.

On the nonesense threads like the myriad of modified Chimaera groups or ones like 'Why do Griffiths look like wheelbarrows?/ or 'How many sets of golf clubs can I get in my Chimp?' or 'Lost! Has anyone seen V8Griff's sense of humour?' .... that sort if place

I appreciate your view but I found this thread informative and entertaining and your grouchy reply added to the "entertainment factor" so well done David!

SORRY lad,s look,s like i have started something here next time i will address the car,s name as it should be
Paul, you haven't 'started' anything mate, the terms 'Chimp', and even 'Chump' are perfectly acceptable and often start a bit of banter going, and to be honest, when I first heard 'Chump' used it made me laugh out loud. I'm afraid my sense of humour (which not everyone appreciates) often gets the better of me, and results in posts that some do not appreciate. Anyway, sorry your thread has been subjected to this disharmony, that certainly wasn't my intention, and apologies to anyone else who has been offended. Hope you get your roof sorted
Will buy you a beer if we meet up
Cheers to all
,Chilli.
Banter is good. I'm possibly one of the worst for it.
Prefer Chump to Chimp but either acceptable.
Back on topic the panel is identical, bar a few minor tweeks to fit every car so even 2 Griff roof panels are different - Andreas 500 panel is smaller than mine - size matters!
The rear section looks the same to me but not really looked to closely.
