Today's "What car" thread

Right my fellow pistonians:

I'm in the market for something fun and interesting for around £2500 to £3000.
Preferably something classed as a classic (for insurance purposes)

my taste:
- fast and loud / small and fun
current / recent cars include 3x classic minis, one with a bike engine, 2x TVR Chimaera's, Lotus esprit.

not looking for a commuting car, just a fun weekend thing.

current options include:
- yet another mini - but i dont need 2
- a beetle - but the rust potential scares me
- an old lotus of some sort that needs a bit of work
- something silly with a bike engine

I've been all over ebay but cant really see anything that flicks my bean...

Im based in Derby, not that that really matters

Err, I realise this may be a stupid idea, however, I think it could be full of laughs.
spend 1800 on this, spend the rest trying to bodge it to the back wheels of the mini:-D
